Music
Music is embedded in school life and our aspiration is that every child adopts a love of music. Singing is a part of daily collective worship. Listening to music enables them to reflect and develop emotional intelligence.
We aim for children to perform, listen to, review and evaluate music across a range of historical periods, genres, styles and traditions, including the works of the great composers and musicians. Children learn to sing and to use their voices, to create and compose music on their own and with others.
Our children will develop confidence, by having the opportunity to perform at concerts in school and at St Mary’s church. They also experience performing for different audiences including Young Voices. This confidence will be taken forward into their future lives.
