Dear Parents/carers

Water Bottles

Please can we ask that children only bring in an average sized, straight edged water bottle into school. Some water bottles are very large and even animal shaped, which fill the water bottle areas in the classrooms. Therefore please can we ask that these are not brought into school.

Parents Evening

Thank you to everyone who attended parents evening this week. It was wonderful to see so many of our families. Thank you also for completing our questionnaire. If you didn’t manage to complete one, but would still like to do so, please ask for a copy and return it before the Easter holidays.

Science Day

We had a wonderful Science Day on Wednesday. The children were involved in finding out about all kinds of scientific things such as insects, growing potatoes and a brilliant science investigation where they had to build the slowest marble run!

Red Nose Day

Thank you to everyone who donated towards the foodbank today. It was extremely generous and I know the foodbank will be thrilled with the amount we can pass on. The children looked amazing today. Thank you again for your ongoing support.

Peter Rabbit

Peter Rabbit will be visiting school on Thursday 21st March. Children can meet Peter Rabbit and will receive a gift from him. The cost is £3.50 and will be on ParentPay until the 15th March.

Easter Egg Raffle

This Easter we will be running our Easter egg raffle where every child in school will be given one free raffle ticket with the chance to win an Easter egg. We would really appreciate if it you could donate a chocolate Easter egg so that we can give out as many as possible. Please pass on any donations to staff at the gate or to class teachers. Thank you very much for your support.

Easter Egg competition

This year’s Easter egg competition has inspirational people as its theme. We are asking pupils to use blown boiled eggs to create a character who has been particularly inspiring to them. The character could be placed into a scene. There will be a prize for each key stage – 4 in all. We are really looking forward to seeing what the children are going to produce. Please bring the inspirational eggs in on Thursday 21st March.

St Mary’s Church Easter Activity Morning

This is to take place on Saturday 23rd March 10-12noon. Please go along and enjoy the fun. It is FREE too!

KS1 Phonics Screening Parents Meeting

We would like to invite parents of children in Year 1 and parents of children in Year 2 who will be retaking the phonics screening check to come and find out more about what the phonics screening check entails and how you can help your child. This will take place on the 16th April straight after school. There will be childcare available and the meeting will last approximately 20 minutes. Please make every effort to attend.

PE Uniform

Please can I remind you that all children need to wear their PE uniform on PE days. Also it would be really useful if children did not wear earrings on these days as they have to be removed for the lesson. Thank you for your support in these matters.

Trips

Please can you keep an eye out on Parent Pay for any trips your child is going to be involved in. It is essential that we receive contributions so that the trip can go ahead. Please make every endeavour to pay any contributions on time. Failure to do so will mean trips are cancelled and children miss out on wonderful opportunities.

Outdoor kit donation

If you have any size 12 wellies or waterproofs that could be donated to school we would really appreciate it. These would support our children who are gardening in the poorer weather.

ParentPay

Please look at your Parent Pay account and clear any outstanding payments. If there are any debts you run the risk of not being able to access school lunches, breakfast club and tea time club.

Attendance

We are heading into the time of year when there can be lots of bugs around. This list helps families know which illnesses and conditions require pupils to stay at home and when they can come to school. However if you have any questions please contact school.

Coffee Morning

All welcome to our informal Coffee /Tea mornings (drink and natter). These are held every Tuesday after dropping your children off at school. Under school age children welcome too as there are lots of toys for them to play with.

Please join us in the Children’s Centre with Mrs Boyle suppling the drinks and biscuits.

New phone number?

If you have a new phone number, or if there is a change in contact details, please contact school to update us.
