Dear Parents/carers

Thank you to everyone who contributed towards our pancake event and made a donation to books. We have raised £195 which will go towards another summer event for the pupils.

World Book Day

We will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 7th March. Children are welcome to come dressed as their favourite book character or in their pyjamas, as we often read when we go to bed.

We are also having a competition where children can turn a potato into their favourite book character! There will be a prize for each class. We can’t wait to see the creations.

Class photographs

Our class photographs will be taking place on Friday 8th March. As it is a Friday please can Year 6 pupils come in their uniform and bring their PE uniform with them to change into at lunchtime.

Parents Evening

We will be running our parents evenings on Monday 11th March at 3.30pm until 5.30pm, and then Wednesday 13th March from 3.30pm until 6.30pm. The parents evening for Nursery pupils will take place on Tuesday 19th March from 3.10pm until 5.30pm. You will be able to book an appointment from 7pm on Wednesday 28th February. I have attached a guide as to how to do this.

Red Nose Day

Red Nose Day is the 15th March. Children are able to come in something red or funny if they would like to. In return we would like donations for the food bank. As well as Red Nose Day this will support our Lent Appeal to help families who require support during these challenging times.

Peter Rabbit

Peter Rabbit will be visiting school on Thursday 21st March. Children can meet Peter Rabbit and will receive a gift from him. The cost is £3.50 and will be on ParentPay until the 15th March.

Easter Egg competition

This year’s Easter egg competition has inspirational people as its theme. We are asking pupils to use blown boiled eggs to create a character who has been particularly inspiring to them. The character could be placed in a scene. There will be a prize for each key stage – 4 in all. We are really looking forward to seeing what the children are going to produce. Please bring the inspirational eggs in on Thursday 21st March.

KS1 Phonics Screening Parents Meeting

We would like to invite parents of children in Year 1 and parents of children in Year 2 who will be retaking the phonics screening check to come and find out more about what the phonics screening check entails and how you can help your child. This will take place on the 16th April straight after school. There will be childcare available and the meeting will last approximately 20 minutes. Please make every effort to attend.

PE Uniform

Please can I remind you that all children need to wear their PE uniform on PE days. Also it would be really useful if children did not wear earrings on these days as they have to be removed for the lesson. Thank you for your support in these matters.

Please can you keep an eye out on Parent Pay for any trips your child is going to be involved in. It is essential that we receive contributions so that the trip can go ahead. Please make every endeavour to pay any contributions on time. Failure to do so will mean trips are cancelled and children miss out on wonderful opportunities.

Outdoor kit donation

If you have any size 12 wellies or waterproofs that could be donated to school we would really appreciate it. These would support our children who are gardening in the poorer weather.

Please look at your Parent Pay account and clear any outstanding payments. If there are any debts you run the risk of not being able to access school lunches, breakfast club and tea time club.

We are heading into the time of year when there can be lots of bugs around. This list helps families know which illnesses and conditions require pupils to stay at home and when they can come to school. However if you have any questions please contact school.

Coffee Morning

All welcome to our informal Coffee /Tea mornings (drink and natter). These are held every Tuesday after dropping your children off at school. Under school age children welcome too as there are lots of toys for them to play with.

Please join us in the Children’s Centre with Mrs Boyle suppling the drinks and biscuits.

New phone number?

If you have a new phone number, or if there is a change in contact details, please contact school to update us.
