Dear Parents/carers
Remembrance Service:
Thank you to Year 5 for leading our Remembrance Service in St Mary’s Church yesterday. It was very thought provoking, encouraging us to remember the lives lost at war. Thank you also to all the families and friends who joined us and to Rev Pollard who welcomed us to Church.
Reception and KS1 Reading Meeting:
Thank you to all the families that came along to this evening. Miss Byram led a very informative session on how we teach reading and how this can be supported in the home. This will make a real difference to support your child in learning how to read.

Christmas helpers needed!
Can you spare any time to help us get Christmas ready?
On Tuesday 21st November we will be hosting a Christmas coffee morning where we will be asking for volunteers to help with a variety of Christmas tasks such as wrapping presents and preparing for our Christmas Fair. The event will run from 8.30-11.30am any help appreciated. Festive snacks and hot drinks provided!
Outdoor kit donation:
If you have any size 12 wellies or waterproofs that could be donated to school we would really appreciate it. These would support our children who are gardening in the poorer weather.
ParentPay:
Please look at your Parent Pay account and clear any outstanding payments. If there are any debts you run the risk of not being able to access school lunches, breakfast club and tea time club.
Headlice:
Please can we ask all families to be very vigilant at checking their children’s hair for headlice. We have had a number of cases in school and this can only be stopped if the headlice are properly treated. Please follow this link for advice.

Packed Lunches and fruit:
Please can I remind families that pupils should not have fizzy drinks, sweets or chocolate bars in their packed lunches.
Children in Reception, Year 1 and 2 receive a piece of fruit each day as part of a Government initiative. This stops when they reach Year 3 so we encourage children in Years 3 to 6 to bring their own piece of fresh fruit to school for a playtime snack. Thank you for your support.
Attendance:
We are heading into the time of year when there can be lots of bugs around. This list helps families know which illnesses and conditions require pupils to stay at home and when they can come to school. However if you have any questions please contact school.

Please join us in the Children’s Centre with Mrs Boyle suppling the drinks and biscuits.
