Dear Parents/carers,

Change of School day start time

Please remember that school now starts at 8.30am. Therefore your child will be marked as late if they arrive after 8.45am and you will need to sign them in at the school office. The first lesson will start by 8.45am so it is essential that they are in the class and ready to start work before this time.

Year 6 celebrations

Well done to all our Year 6 pupils who treated us to a wonderful performance on Monday of ‘Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies’. It was a real treat and I was so impressed with the confident performances of singing, dancing and comedy. It was amazing how well the pupils learned their lines and knew exactly what do and when. Fantastic work Year 6!

On Wednesday evening Year 6, Miss Joyce, Mrs Kennedy and myself went to Casa Luli for a lovely Italian meal. We had a great time and the good behaviour of our pupils was even mentioned by other customers in the restaurant.

This morning we went to St Mary’s Church for our Leavers Service. The children presented a fabulous service sharing memories of their time at our school, as well as children from other year groups offering prayers. They were presented with a beautiful illustrated dictionary as well as their hoodie and other special treats. Thank you to all their family and friends who were able to join us for this memorable service. Photos from the service are below.

This afternoon there was a water fight so I remained hidden in my office!!

Beach Day

We all had a fabulous afternoon at Beach Day. Not only did we bounce on the bouncy castle, but we had an entertainer, had a football shout out, danced and played on the beach! We even had a picnic lunch. This was all paid for by money raised over the year and was a great experience for every child in school! Thank you to Mrs Boyle for organising it all.

Ice-creams

Thank you very much to Mrs Barker and Mrs Powles who paid for everyone in school to have an ice cream or lolly from Mr Gratino’s ice cream van. This was their parting present to us as they start their retirements. A very generous gift, enjoyed by all.

This afternoon we had a worship for Mrs Barker and Mrs Powles where the children sang for them, made lovely speeches and shared gifts. We certainly wish you every happiness in your well-deserved retirement. Photos from this worship are below.

ParentPay accounts

It is essential that you make every effort to clear your Parent Pay accounts for Breakfast Club, Tea Time Club, Nursery and lunches. From September payments for Tea Time Club and Breakfast Club must be made prior to your child staying. Therefore, all accounts need to be settled before the end of the summer holidays, unless you pay using child tax credits. We will contact anybody that is still in debt at the start of the new school year to let you know you will be unable to access these facilities until debts are cleared, or a payment plan is put in place.

School Uniform Donations

Thank you to all who have donated school uniform – If you are able to donate clean uniform in good condition, we would be very grateful.  We are currently short of KS1 and 2 school cardigans, KS1 school jumpers and school summer dresses.  Our Uniform Bank offers good quality uniform free to children in school.  Thank you for your help.
