Dear Parents/carers,
Robinwood:
Well done to all our pupils who went to Robinwood this weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed my day with them and have heard very positive reports about the behaviour of our pupils. There are some very tired faces, but they all seem to have had a lovely time. Thank you very much to Mrs Kennedy who went with the children on Friday as well as Mrs Barker and Mrs Nicholl who gave up their weekend to support the trip. It was very much appreciated.
Anti Bullying Week:
Thank you to everyone who is supporting anti bullying week by wearing odd socks today. Adults and children are wearing odd socks to celebrate what makes us all unique. Anti-Bullying Week 2022 is coordinated in England and Wales by the Anti-Bullying Alliance. It is taking place from 14 to 18 November 2022 and has the theme Reach Out.
Events this half term:
Don’t forget to keep up to date with all the events that are taking place this half term. There are many different things happening so please pay careful attention to all the dates. I emailed a list out last week, but this has also been added below.
Film Night:
SMASH are holding their Christmas Film Night on Tuesday 22nd November straight after school. We are showing ‘A Christmas Carol’ with Jim Carrey. The cost is £3.00 and includes and drink and a cookie. It is due to finish at 5.30pm.
Tesco Community Tokens:
Earlier this year we applied for the Tesco Community Grant to make improvements to our outdoor areas around school. We are pleased to say that our application was successful!
This means when you shop at Tesco and are given a little blue token to put in the box our school will feature on one of those boxes. This started on Saturday, 1st of October and runs all the way through to January.
It would be amazing if you could support our school by choosing the ‘Gomersal St Mary’s box’ for your token. The more tokens we get the bigger the grant for school!
Our selected stores are:
- Cleckheaton Superstore, BD19 3HS
- Birstall Express, WF17 9EH
Coffee Morning:
All welcome to our informal Coffee /Tea mornings (drink and natter). These are held every Tuesday after dropping your children off at School (8.45 till 10.00am). Under school age children welcome too as there are lots of toys for them to play with. Please join us in the Children’s Centre with Mrs Priestley suppling the drinks and biscuits.
Thank You
