We are currently permitting 2 people at each one. More people may be able to attend if there is spare capacity. There is no guarantee of entry if your name is not down so please contact school.

Summer concert:

Our Summer concert this year will celebrate the school’s 40th birthday. All the songs will be from this era so look forward to an 80’s singalong.

Here is a list of the costumes your child will require for the Summer concert:

  • Y1: neutral tones
  • Y2: PE shorts/vest – sports kit but not football strips
  • Y3: White t-shirts, shorts, trainers
  • Y4: General 80s things – bright and colourful!
  • Y5: White t-shirts, jeans/black bottoms shorts or leggings – punk style stuff optional!
  • Y6: General 80s things – the louder the better

The hamper raffle will be drawn at the Summer Concert. Thank you for all the contributions you made through our non-uniform day.  Here is the list of hampers that you could win:

  • Early Years – bottles

  • Year 2 – Sweets
  • Year 3 – Cakes
  • Year 4 – Snacks

All raffle tickets should be returned by Monday 11th July so we can make the draw at the Summer Concert.

There will also be a range of snacks, drinks as well as ice cream that can be purchased from 10p to £1.00.

Please can children arrive at 4.30pm to prepare for the concert. If your child is in tea time club the pupils will be brought across by staff.

Food Bank non-uniform day:

Cleckheaton Food Bank has asked local schools to do a collection before the summer holidays to support those families who are most in need. Therefore, we will be having a non-uniform collection day on Tuesday 19th July.

Sports Club:

Due to the summer concert there will be no sports club on Wednesday 13th July, but will be held instead on Thursday 14th July.

Year 6 rehearsal:

Please can all Year 6 pupils bring their performance clothes into school on Thursday 14th July. These are clothes they could wear to an Oscars Ceremony. These should not be bought especially for the performance as the class have discussed clothes they could wear that they already have at home.

Old Uniform:

As we head into the summer holidays you may be thinking about buying new uniform. If you have any old uniform that doesn’t fit your child anymore, and is in good condition, please can you donate it to school. We are always keen to collect uniform to pass on to other families. We only ask that you wash it first.

Year 6 ParentPay:

It is not only important that you pay any outstanding debts on your child’s ParentPay account, but also that you check to see if you have any money that we owe to you. Please go through and check all the categories.

Michelle Middleton:

My role as an early support consultant involves working with families to make sure that they get the support that they require to address their needs, placing the children’s needs at the centre of decision making.

I will be completing a weekly drop in session between 9am – 11.00am each Tuesday morning as of now. Individual appointments are also available on a Wednesday morning. Please see Mrs Priestley to book.

During these sessions I will be able to listen to families on a 1:1 basis, and in many cases offer them short term support and guidance on a range of issues (including child behaviour & parenting).

For families who require longer term support I can discuss with them other options of support, including Early Support Services. I have a good knowledge of the local and National organisations that support families overcome many problems (such as debt advice, housing advice, bereavement services, employment/education/training providers, mental health support, parental conflict/domestic violence/internet safety etc) and therefore can also signpost families to these agencies at the drop in session.

Breakfast Club:

We currently have spaces in our Breakfast Club. It is open each day from 7.45am to the start of school. Children can have a choice of cereals, juice and toast. The cost is £3.50, or £1.50 if your child is entitled to Free School Meals (not just free meals from Reception or Years 1 and 2).

Tea-Time Club:

Our Tea-Time Club is getting more and more popular. Places fill up fast, so please book in advance.

To book your child’s place, call or email the school office. Please remember that if you cancel the place on the same day as your child was due to attend, you will still be charged. If you can give as much notice as possible of a cancellation, this frees up the place for someone else to attend.

Packed Lunches:

Please can I remind families that pupils should not have fizzy drinks, sweets or chocolate bars in their packed lunches. Thank you for your support.

Training Days 21/22 reminder:

Here are the training days for the next school year:

Monday 25th July 2022
Tuesday 26th July 2022

School breaks up on Friday 22nd July.

Yours sincerely, Miss J. Barker
