Your donations are much appreciated.
Fairtrade:
Thank you for all your support on Tuesday at the Year 3 Fairtrade café. It was lovely to see so many our families enjoying the refreshments and the fantastic art work that was displayed. Well done Year 3 and all the children who contributed their artistic talents.
Mrs Rhodes:
Mrs Rhodes who supports predominantly in Year 4 will be leaving us at the end of this half term. We will really miss her and thank her very much for all her hard work and commitment to our school. We wish her all the best.
Award for school:
Good news. We have been awarded our GreenFlag with Merit Award. This has been a team effort in school led by Mrs Sheard, involving the eco team and the gardening club, as well as support from all. I am very proud of this achievement. Well done to all concerned.
Jubilee Day:
We are celebrating Jubilee Day on Thursday 26th May. Children are asked to come in non-uniform – either come dressed as a royal, or in red, white and blue.
Voting is now open for our pet completion. Please follow the link on the school website to place your vote. It will close at midday (12:00PM) on Thursday, 26th May 2022.
As part of our ongoing Jubilee celebrations, on Thursday 26th May, we will be celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee as a whole school. The children will be taking part in some fun activities in the classroom during the morning, and
in the afternoon, we are having a Jubilee picnic. After the picnic, the whole school will be involved in lots of different activities outside including party games, a bouncy castle, 50’s dances, and music.
On the day, we are going to be selling pop, ice lollies, popcorn, and sweets. This will take place in the afternoon and each class will be able to visit the tuck shop. Items on sale start at 10p. We are asking that each child brings no more than £2 to the tuck shop. The tuck shop will also be available to parents after school. Money raised from the sales will go towards our outdoor areas and future events in school.
London trip:
Please make sure you arrive at school between 7am and 7.15am. If we haven’t received it already, please make sure you bring along your tea money for the way home. This should in an envelope marked with your child’s name. Please make sure the red luggage label is attached to the piece of luggage going in the boot of the coach.
All medicines need to be handed to a staff member with clear instructions of how, and when, it should be given. If prescribed medicines need to administered, then please complete a school medical administration form. These will be available on Monday morning. If you feel your child may need it please put suncream in their luggage.
In the back pack for on the coach children should have: a packed lunch, a full water bottle, a waterproof, and an extra jumper. Children need to come in comfortable clothes, as well as trainers, or shoes they can walk a long way in. They may also have a few snacks and something to entertain them on the journey. Please do not being electronics or anything of value. Phones and cameras are not allowed.
Don’t forget we will keep you updated via Twitter so make sure you are signed up to the school Twitter account. We are really looking forward to an excellent trip.
We hope to be back at approximately 8.30pm on Wednesday, but you will receive a text as we get closer. We would appreciate all pupils being in school on time on Thursday to join in our Jubilee Day.
Michelle Middleton:
My role as an early support consultant involves working with families to make sure that they get the support that they require to address their needs, placing the children’s needs at the centre of decision making.
I will be completing a weekly drop in session between 9am – 11.00am each Tuesday morning as of now. Individual appointments are also available on a Wednesday morning. Please see Mrs Priestley to book. During these sessions I will be able to listen to families on a 1:1 basis, and in many cases offer them short term support and guidance on a range of issues (including child behaviour & parenting). For families who require longer term support I can discuss with them other options of support, including Early Support Services. I have a good knowledge of the local and National organisations that support families overcome many problems (such as debt advice, housing advice, bereavement services, employment/education/training providers, mental health support, parental conflict/domestic violence/internet safety etc) and therefore can also signpost families to these agencies at the drop in session.
Tea-Time Club:
Our Tea-Time Club us getting more and more popular. Places fill up fast, so please book in advance.
To book your child’s place, call or email the school office.

ParentPay:
Please check your ParentPay accounts for outstanding payments. It is important that these are kept up to date to avoid increased debt. Thank you very much for your co-operation. It won’t be long before this school year is over and it is essential that all debts are cleared. If you have any concerns regarding money owed please talk to Mrs Earnshaw.
