Dear Parents/carers
Non-uniform Day:
https://thewholeautismfamily.co.uk/
Koby’s mum in Year 1 will be doing the 3 Peaks Challenge later this month to raise money for this fantastic charity. As you may know Koby has autism and this charity is very supportive in offering help and guidance. We will have a non-uniform/bucket on the gate on Friday 20th May if you would like to support Heather and her walking challenge. There is no particular colour theme for this day.
Fairtrade:
Year 3’s Fairtrade cafe and our art gallery will be open on Tuesday 17th May 8:30 -10:00am and 2:30 – 3:00pm.
There will also be a uniform sale taking place. Please come along and support the Year 3 children.
Odd socks:
We will be having an odd socks/odd shoes day on Monday 16th May. This is to kick start our Walk to School week. There is no money involved just some funky feet!
Happy News!
Mrs Wilson in Early Years is expecting her third child later this year. We send her many congratulations to her and her husband and wish them every happiness.
Jubilee Day:
We are celebrating Jubilee Day on Thursday 26th May. There will be many activities during the day, including a red, white and blue/Dress like a Royal non-uniform day. More information will follow.
Welcome to our special Platinum Jubilee Pet contest!
As part of our Jubilee celebrations, we are launching our very own Pet competition. This is inspired by the Queens love of pets, and obviously our love for them too.
All we ask is that you email a photo of your pet. Once that is done, pay your £1 entry on ParentPay and the photos will be uploaded to our website where you and everyone else can vote for the favourite pet. On Thursday 26th of May, the dog with the most votes will win a very special doggy surprise.
You can submit your pet photos using the form on this page, https://gomersalstmarys.co.uk/platinum-jubilee-pet-contest/or by sending an email to petphotos@gsmcep.co.uk.
Each entry requires a title and description. Photo titles and descriptions should only have the name of the pet attached – entries will be edited to reflect this if needed, although they may also be rejected. We wish for the vote to be as fair as possible and would just like the names of the pet visible.
Photos should show only the pet. No humans or other identifying features, please!
You may submit more than one pet, but each pet needs to be submitted separately. An entry fee of £1 per pet should be paid via ParentPay. Payments can be made from Monday.
Voting opens on Friday, 20th May 2022 and will be closed at midday (12:00PM) on Thursday, 26th May 2022.
London trip:
We have now received red luggage labels which we will give out towards the end of next week. These are for the luggage that will be going into the boot of the coach. The money for tea on the way home can be handed into the school office at any point, or can be brought on the Monday morning we leave. We are suggesting no more than £10. This will be kept by staff until we arrive at the service station on the Wednesday tea time.
Internet warning:
You may have seen articles online and in newspapers regarding Huggy Wuggy and Poppy Playtime. We thought we would share these articles as well:

Please remember that we are a nut free school. This does include Nutella. Please make sure that there are no nut products in your child’s packed lunch.

Please check your ParentPay accounts for outstanding payments. It is important that these are kept up to date to avoid increased debt. Thank you very much for your co-operation.
Free School Meals:
If you think you may be eligible for free school meals, please look at the attached document providing additional information. It is worth investigating this even if your child is currently having free school meals because they are in Reception, Year 1 and 2, as there are additional benefits.
