Dear Parents/carers

I can’t believe we have come to the end of another school year. It has certainly been another challenging one!

Thank you so much for all the support you have provided for school this year. It is always very much appreciated.

We have been so fortunate in the small number of bubble closures we have experienced over the last 16 months and I want to thank the staff who work so hard to ensure our school is a safe place to be. I must also mention our children who have followed our guidelines superbly, looking after themselves and each other.

Goodbye to our Year 6 children. They have been a pleasure to have in school and we wish them every success as they move to High School. If you would like to watch their end of year video, please go to our school website or go to: https://youtu.be/YBuzmrNIyXU I’m sure you will love sharing the memories of their time at Gomersal St Mary’s.

As I mentioned in last week’s letter, we will no longer be having bubbles from September unless we are advised otherwise. However, we will still operate the one-way system for dropping off and picking up children at the start and end of the day. Children will also be allowed to wear their PE kit on PE days as long as they follow the PE uniform code (white t-shirt, black/grey/navy blue shorts or joggers, and a black/grey/navy plain sweatshirt or hoodie).

Please note that Year 4 children will be swimming on the first day back. You should have received a letter containing more information.

Breakfast Club and Teatime club will both start on the first day back. Remember that our Breakfast Club has a new start time of 7.45am with a small price increase to £3.50, and £1.50 for free school meals (which have been issued by Kirklees).

We look forward to seeing you all back on Tuesday 7th September for, what will hopefully be, a less eventful year.

Have a lovely holiday.

Yours sincerely, Miss J. Barker
