Dear parents/carers,

Welcome back. I hope you all had a good holiday.

Just a reminder of some key dates that are coming back:

Wear a hoodie for hoodies:

On Friday 18th June we are having a non-uniform day called ‘Wear a Hoodie for Hoodies’. As SMASH have been unable to raise money over the last year, we are using this non-uniform day to raise money towards the Year 6 leaver’s hoodies. We are asking for a contribution of £1 to wear non-uniform on this day including a hoodie if you have one.

Polling Day:

Our school will be used as a polling station on Thursday 1st July. This will be to elect a new MP to replace Tracy Brabin now that she has become Mayor of West Yorkshire. As before, we will provide remote learning for the children.

Tea Time Club:

Whether you are wanting to make a lovely card, a homemade keepsake or a unique piece of artwork, we have plenty of ideas for you.

Such a wonderful way to show that special adult, in your life, just how much you care.

Father’s Day is on Sunday 20th June.

Come along and join us – ALL next week. To book your child’s place, please ring or email the School office.

Mrs Wharton and Miss Hacking

PE kit:

Can I please remind you that children are expected to come to school in our PE uniform on their PE days and not just any sportswear. We are still having children arriving in football kits or brightly coloured clothing. Children should wear a white t-shirt, and dark coloured shorts or joggers (black, blue or grey). These clothes should be plain and not have logos or patterns on them.

Pencil cases:

We are having an increasing problem with pencil cases in school. As you will remember these should be small and basic, only holding the key essentials. A second small pencil case can be brought with a few coloured pencils that should be kept in the child’s drawer. Larger and more expensive pencil cases cause problems by taking up space on the desk and they also encourage children to play with them when they should be working or listening. We would appreciate your help in this matter.

Reports:

We will be sending your child’s end of year school report via email this year. We will use the email address that we have on record. This is the address that we use to send the weekly letters out. If you would like to change this email address, please contact school by the 30th June. Reports will be sent out shortly afterwards.

Yours sincerely, Miss J. Barker
