Dear Parents/carers,

It has certainly been a challenging week and so we appreciate all the support we are getting from our families in accessing the remote learning opportunities.

Remote learning:

Please can I emphasise that the remote learning must be completed. It is not a problem if you don’t stick to the example timetable as long as the work is completed each day. We can see who is completing the work and so will be in contact with parents/carers where insufficient work has been completed. This will be so we can see how we can support you in accessing the remote learning.

It is important that the work is completed to a high standard – the standard that would be expected in school. Please make sure you monitor the work your child is doing to ensure they have spent the right amount of time on it and it is the best they can do.

Children in years 1 to 6 should access Google Classrooms for their main work, as well as Purple Mash, Sumdog and Times Tables Rockstars. Your child will also be given access to imoves so they can be more active. Reception, Year 1 and 2 also have a password for Oxford Owl to support with phonics work. Reception children should receive a daily email with their work attached.

We have also heard that you can access Google Classroom via and Xbox and Playstation. I have not tried this myself, but it may be worth a try as it could help access the work when you have more than one child trying to do their work.

Next week we are going to start live lessons. More information on this tomorrow.

Attending school:

If your child is coming to school please book your child in the week before. Please remember that your child should only come to school on the days you are working. They should wear uniform unless it is a PE or Forest Schools day.

After School Club:

For the time being After School Club will run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. It is important that you book your child/children in as if we think we have no one coming we will cancel the club.

PE/Forest Schools:

Here are the days when your child will need to come to school in their PE kit or dressed for forest schools (waterproof coat, warm clothes and sturdy shoes). All PE and Forest School sessions will take place in the afternoon.

 PE Forest Schools
Monday Year 1/2 Nursery/Reception
Tuesday Year 3/4
Wednesday  Year 3/4
Thursday Nursery/Reception
Friday Year 5/6

Look out for the next update with instructions on how to get on to the live lessons starting next week.

Again thank you for all your support. I appreciate there will be issues on both sides as we endeavour to make this new lockdown work, but I’m sure we will get there as we all continue to work together.

Miss Barker
