Dear parents/carers,
Firstly can I apologise for the late hour of this update.
I am sure you are by now familiar with the announcement that was made by Boris Johnson this evening. It came as a real surprise to us and I’m sure you felt the same way.
There is still more information to come through as we currently know little more than was shared at the announcement.
However, to ensure we now meet the new legislation we will only be allowing pupils who parents/carers are key workers, or who are considered vulnerable, into school tomorrow.
If you are unsure as to whether your job meets the criteria for a key worker please look at the link below: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision
We expect that both parents/carers will need to be key workers for the child to come to school.
In the morning staff will meet you at the gate as normal, but we will take a register of pupils attending, and noting down why they are eligible to attend. This is because we have to submit data to the Government.
Please note that there will be no remote learning tomorrow as we need time to prepare resources and move our learning online. I will continue to share information as I receive it. In the meantime, we can only hope that this makes a difference in beating this terrible virus.
Thank you, Miss Barker
