Dear parents/carers,
Here we are at the end of another unprecedented term. We certainly haven’t been able to celebrate Christmas in the way we usually do, but there has still been plenty of fun and generosity. Thank you very much for all the donations to SMASH, as well as Save the Children and Children In Need.
We also managed to raise £82 with our Virtual Santa and our raffle raised £245. Thank you very much to everyone who contributed to our fundraising this Christmas.
Family Support:
I have been informed that there will be a contact number that families could call if they felt they need support over the festive break. The early support number is 01484 456823 and will be manned over Christmas by Business Support Officers who will then direct the call to someone from the early support team.
I have also been told this number is also available for families throughout the year so please make a note of it just in case you need it.
Christmas films:
Have a look at our website and watch our 4 Christmas performances: Early Years, Years 1 and 2, Years 3 and 4, and Years 5 and 6. Why not get some snacks and watch them with your child?
The films will appear on our website on the following dates at 12pm:
Date: | Year groups: |
21st December | Early Years |
22nd December | Years 1 and 2 |
23rd December | Years 3 and 4 |
24th December | Years 5 and 6 |
COVID contact details:
If your child is tested positive over the Christmas holidays, please contact school through our email address: office@gsmcep.co.uk. This is particularly important for the first 6 days of the holidays as we may have to contact families to tell them to self-isolate for 10 days.
Please also use this email address to let us know if your child will not be returning to school on the 5th January because they have received a positive test, or are having to self-isolate. Of course, this email address can be used to inform us of any absence whether it is COVID related or not.
London Trip:
Can I please ask families of years 5 and 6 pupils to stop paying money towards the London trip. We are currently investigating where we stand with insurance and it may be that this trip will have to be cancelled. I will contact you again in the new year to confirm what is going to happen.
ParentPay:
Please check your Parentpay accounts and pay off any outstanding amounts. I appreciate that money can be tight at this time of year, but we don’t want any of our families to build up any debt.
January start date:
Please remember that we start back on Tuesday 5th January 2021. Hopefully, we will carry on as we are now, but if there are any changes to arrangements these will be emailed to you. Please note that this could be last-minute depending on Government advice!
We wish you all a very happy Christmas. Please stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.
Yours sincerely, Miss J. Barker
