Dear parents/carers,
Children In Need:
Thank you to everyone who made a donation to Children In Need last week. We were able to contribute £211 which is amazing.
Virtual Santa:
Unfortunately, we will be unable to hold our Christmas Fair this year which means Santa will be unable to visit our special Grotto. Therefore we have decided to hold virtual Santa visits. Obviously, he will have to self-isolate in the North Pole until the last minute, but he will send some presents across for us to give the children.
You will be able to book a slot with Santa during the school day on Tuesday 8th December. The price per child is £3.00 and will need to be paid on Parentpay. There is a limit of 40 places so once you have paid for your ticket your child is booked on. Your child will be accompanied by staff throughout the chat with Santa, and Santa will have a member of staff alongside him.
SMASH non-uniform day:
We are holding a non-uniform day on Tuesday 1st December to celebrate the start of the Christmas month. For a donation of £1 to support SMASH fundraising your child can come to school in non-uniform with a Christmas theme. Please remember we do not expect families to spend money on new outfits. This is not competition, just a fun day.
SMASH fundraiser:
With our Christmas fair, discos etc. being cancelled this will have a really detrimental effect on our fundraising. Therefore an idea has been put forward by families to contribute the money they would have spent on school Christmas cards to the SMASH fund instead.
Children will still be allowed to bring in Christmas cards, but for their bubble only. There will be a collection box in each classroom. All cards need to be in school by Friday 11th December. They will then be kept in school over the weekend and handed out on Monday 14th December.
However you may prefer to donate the Christmas card money to SMASH instead, especially as your child may not be able to give out as many as they would like to.
SMASH stall:
Don’t forget that SMASH will be running a stall outside school next Thursday at 3 pm. All items are available for a minimum donation of a £1.00
Christmas Jumper Day:
Christmas Jumper Day will be held on Friday 11th December. The event raises money for Save the Children, so we are asking for donations of £1. Please don’t feel that you need to buy a special Christmas jumper as we love to see home-made ones!
There will be more Christmas events happening so please look out for future letters containing important information.
Self-isolation:
Please note that if you or your child has been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Coronavirus you are required to self-isolate for 14 days. You must not take a test unless you have symptoms. We are finding that some parents are going for a test, and then when it comes back negative, the children are returning to school. Please remember that symptoms can take up to 14 days to appear and so if your child comes back too early you are risking spreading infection.
