Letter home – Friday, 13th October 2017

Thank you all the families who attended parents evening this week. It is important that we have these meetings so that we can share the progress your child is making and answer any questions you may have. If you didn’t manage to make an appointment, please speak to your child’s class teacher as a meeting could still be arranged.

Can we please ask all families that if your child is going to be absent from school that you inform us that morning. For safeguarding reasons it is essential that we know that each of our pupils are safe. If you can’t contact us via phone you can always email the office at the email address at the top of the screen.

We launched our Alternative Harvest yesterday with an assembly led by Helen and Sophie from Fair and Funky. They told us how buying a bag of rice can make such a difference to families in Malawi by supporting the purchase of farming equipment, providing education for children and providing water storage facilities and pumps to irrigate the rice fields during dry spells. We will be selling the rice after school next week under the canopy. Each bag of rice is £3.50 and can be purchased to take home or you can make the £3.50 donation and the rice will be donated to our local food bank. The challenge is to sell 90 bags of rice in total as this represents the cost of sending one child to school. Please support this worthwhile cause.

Can I please remind Year 6 parents that their presentation is on Wednesday 18th October at 2.30pm in the school hall.

Thank you for your support.

Yours sincerely, Miss J. Barker
