School Updates: Friday, 5th May 20172 minute read

Thank you very much to everyone who returned a slip requesting a paper copy of our newsletter, St Mary’s Star. If you would still like a paper copy of each edition please contact the school office.

Can I please remind families of year 1 and year 4 children that their class presentations are next week. Class 4’s will be on Wednesday 10th May at 2.30pm and Class 1 will perform their presentation on Thursday 11th May at 2.30pm, both in the school hall.

Next week year 6 will be taking their SAT tests.  It is essential that children arrive on time each morning as the exams all take place before lunch. Year 6 children will also be able to access Breakfast Club for free this week. Can you please ensure that the children have a water bottle freshly filled each day as we know that hydration supports their ability to do their best.

We are having a themed lunch on Thursday 18th May. This will be a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party and will include a selection of chequerboard sandwiches with various fillings, an assortment of savouries, a trio of mini desserts and a refreshing fruit punch.  If you are usually a packed lunch and would like to book a lunch, please let the school office know by Wednesday 10th May.  The cost is £2.05 and will be charged to Parent Pay.

St Mary’s Church are holding a Big Brekkie on Saturday 13th May from 9.30am – 11.30am. This is in support of Christian Aid.  There will be bacon and eggs and butties to enjoy along with cereal, toast, tea, coffee and juice etc.  There will also be a Breakfast Quiz and activity sheets, and even a jewellery sale.  Please bring along your copper coins as we are aiming to make a copper sausage!  Please go along and support this event.

If you would like your year 5 or 6 child to attend Robinwood next year, please can all slips be in school by Tuesday 9th May.

Yours sincerely, Miss J. Barker
