First of all can I please thank you for all your kind donations on Red Nose Day. In total we raised over £241.00 – a fantastic effort for a very worthwhile cause.
As you are aware Mrs Sheard has recently returned from Tanzania. During this trip, contributions made from filling our copper jar, as well as uniform sales were used to purchase desks for children in our link school, Nyanza Primary. Some of the children have to sit on the floor in the classrooms so they were very excited to have somewhere to sit and work. Many of the children do not have basic resources such as paper, pencils and text books so we would like to raise money through our Lent Appeal to support these pupils in providing some of this equipment. Therefore on Friday 7th April we will be having a non-uniform event to raise some money which can be sent to Nyanza. Please support this event by paying £1 per child.
This week I met with the leaders of Primary Education in Kirklees to discuss the Post Ofsted action plans that are currently being drawn up. These were met very favourably and we look forward to instigating them after Easter.
In the interests of safeguarding can I please ask that if you wish to speak to a member of staff you report to the school office first. We have had a number of occasions when parents have gone straight to classrooms. If you go through the school office then we are aware you are on the premises and the member of staff can be located for you.
You will already have received a text informing you that our school telephone number will be changing from midnight on Friday 31st March. The new number will be 01274 874 550.
Many thanks for your continuing support.
Yours sincerely, Miss J. Barker
