Happy New Year from everyone at Gomersal St Mary’s CE Primary School.

We are having a big push on tightening up school uniform this term.  Please can you ensure that your child is wearing all the correct uniform each morning as they set off for school.  If you are in doubt about what constitutes our uniform please look at our website: or ask at school.

Please make sure that all long hair is tied back using a plain, dark coloured bobble and only simple dark coloured hairbands are worn. Nail varnish is not permitted in school and so must be removed.

We have a growing number of children who are forgetting their PE kit.  If you are unaware which days are your child’s PE lessons, please check with school.  All jewellery, including earrings, must be removed for PE/swimming lessons.

If your child does not have the correct uniform, you will receive a text from school as for repeated incidents yellow cards and red cards will be awarded. This will also occur for repeated reminders about shirts not tucked in etc.

Signing in:

You may also have noticed that we have a new signing in system at school.  If your child is late to school, you need to accompany your child to the school office where you will be asked to electronically sign them in. We are aware that some children are dropped off at the school gate when they are late, but as part of fire regulations all children who come after the start of the school day, must be signed in by an adult.

Thank you for your support in these matters.

Yours sincerely, Miss J. Barker
