I am writing to you with the snow falling outside my office – a bit unusual for the end of April! We do seem to be experiencing some strange weather at the moment so can I please ask that children are sent to school ready for whatever may come.
As you know we have a short week next week as we are closed on Monday for Bank Holiday and then again on Thursday while our school is used as a polling station.
We are also approaching SATs week for Year 6. This will take place throughout the week beginning the 9th May. In order to provide families with more information about what the week involves we are holding an information evening on Tuesday 3rd May at 6pm. We will meet in the hall for a short presentation about how the week is structured and share some pointers on how to make sure your child is in the ideal frame of mind to do their best. We are offering free Breakfast Club for all Year 6 pupils during their SATs week. If you would like your child to take advantage of this they just need to turn up (no pre booking is needed) from 8.10am.
We currently have a number of classes who require boxes for modelling – especially cereal boxes. If you have any please could you drop them off in school and they will be passed onto the classes who need them.
Can I please remind Nursery families that the final date for payments for this half term’s additional sessions is the 15th May. We will then ask families to book sessions for next half term.
On Thursday 19th May we are having an Italian theme lunch in school. The menu will include a selection of pizzas, salad, wedges, ice cream with sauce or chocolate tiramisu. If you would like your child to have this lunch please book at the office by Wednesday 4th May.
Many thanks for your continued support.
Yours sincerely, Miss J. Barker
