Fair and Funky Conference1 minute read

8 children from across KS1 and 2 had a great time at the Fair and Funky Conference. They spent their day with other schools across Kirklees learning about Fair Trade and what it is like to live in a poor country. They learnt about how chocolate is made and how we can recognise Fair Trade goods in the shops. The children were challenged to think about the hard work that goes into making goods in poorer countries, often for very poor wages. They were given all sorts of tasks including making their own football out of newspaper and carrier bags. We had a great day and we will be sharing what we have learnt through a school assembly. School Council will be looking to think more about Fair Trade in school next term.
