School Updates: 4th September 2015

Welcome back to the new school year! The holidays seem to have flown by and we are ready to embark on another busy year at our school.

Some of you may have noticed that our website has been down over the summer.  Mr Pitts is currently working on a revamped version which should hopefully go live in the next few weeks. We will include photographs of children on the website, as well as in our newsletter.  There are also often requests from visitors and places we visit to take photographs for their publicity.  If you would prefer for your child NOT to be photographed then please contact Mrs Earnshaw so she can inform the staff.

The after school clubs will start next week and there are still places available for most clubs so if you are interested please speak to Mrs Earnshaw in the office. PE and swimming (Years 3 and 4) will start next week and so can you please ensure that your child has the correct kit on the correct day.

Mrs Earnshaw has also asked that if your child has Thursday/Friday lunches that you let her know by Wednesday if your child still requires them this year so that the food can be prepared accordingly. Also if any of your personal information has changed over the holidays, for example address, child’s medical details or mobile telephone number, could you please ensure that Mrs Earnshaw is aware so that your child’s details can be updated.  Incorrect information can mean you miss out on important information.

Your child will be bringing home their Homework Diaries and Reading Records so please look out for them.  It is essential that children read at home, so please could you sign your child’s book after they have read to you and we will endeavour to change their book regularly.

Our first fortnightly newsletter will be coming out next Friday so please read these to keep up to date with our news and reminders about forthcoming events.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Miss J. Barker

Mr Pitts currently teaches Computing to the whole school along with some other subjects during teacher's PPA time. He runs this website and makes sure it all works smoothly, most of the time!
