School Updates, Friday, 21st November 20142 minute read

Dear Parent/Carer,

First of all thank you for supporting our non-uniform day today. We now have a lovely selection of items for the chocolate tombola.

Next Friday (28th November) we are having another non-uniform day to collate objects for our colour tombola. This requires children to wear a particular colour and then bring in an item of that colour.

The colours are as follows:

School age group Colour
Nursery and Reception BLUE
Years 1 and 2 RED
Years 3 and 4 GREEN
Years 5 and 6 YELLOW

So for example if your child is in Year 3, they would wear a green item of clothing and bring something green in for the tombola.

The Christmas Fair is on Friday, 5th December, starting at 5pm and finishing at 7pm. We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible,

This week or new school attendance policy was approved by the Governing Body. This has now been posted onto the school website (here), but if you would prefer a paper copy, please call in at the office. Please take time to read the policy, but please note the key school times are as follows:

  • Morning session: 8:30am – 11:30am
  • Afternoon session: 12:15pm – 3:15pm

Reception to Year 6:

  • Morning session: 8:45am – 12:00pm
  • Afternoon session: 12:00pm – 3:00pm

Please note that the doors will open at 8:40am so that all pupils can be in class for registration which takes places at 8:45am. The doors will be closed at 8:45am.

Late attendance:

If a child arrives in school from 8:50am they must be taken to the school office by an adult and signed in. The child will be registered with a late mark and the reason for the late arrival will be logged. The child will then be taken to the classroom.

Registration will officially close at 9:15am. If a child arrives after this time, an unauthorised absence will be recorded.

Next week SMASH are having a Frozen movie night on Thursday, 27th November. There are still a few tickets remaining so if you are interested, please see Mrs Earnshaw in the office (more details are here)
