School Updates, Friday, 24th October 20141 minute read

Dear Parent and Carers,

I can’t believe we have come to the end of the first half term already.  It has been wonderful to work with all members of the Gomersal St Mary’s CE Primary School community.

We have achieved so much this half term throughout the whole school and I would like to thank everyone for their support and hard work.

Next half term we are looking forward to the first parent’s evening of the year.  We encourage you all to make an appointment as we are introducing a new system to share your child’s progress and success, linked to academic standards as well as behaviour and attitude. Appointment letters will be coming out after the holidays.

There will also be a new weekly mental mathematics initiative which will take place from years 2 to 6. This is called Rainbow Maths and will form part of the weekly mathematics homework.

We are also looking forward to using the new laptops which will be available for all children to use in school to complement the whole curriculum. These will be in place and up and running soon after half term.

Please note that there are still some places available in Nursery from January 2015. Call in at the school office if you require any further information.

I wish you all a very happy holiday and look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday 3rd November.

Yours sincerely, Miss J. Barker
