2014 Lent Appeal

As in previous years we are holding our annual Lent Appeal,  and the charities we are supporting this year are ‘The Local Food Bank’ and the ‘Forget Me Not Trust’.  Both these charities are for local families.  The ‘Forget me not Trust’ supports families with very poorly children.

The aim is to fundraise but with a fun element for the children. We will be holding a health week, with the topics for healthy eating/fitness/body awareness.  There will be sponsored events such as non-stop netball, obstacle course, fun-run, each class will decide what they would like to do.  Also each class will be running an enterprise initiative to raise their own money for the charities

On Friday 14th March we are having a non-uniform day which we are asking for donations of food such as:- Tinned meat and fish, UHT milk, tinned vegetables, tinned fruit, custard or rice pudding, tinned or packet soup, breakfast cereal and long life fruit juice.  This will be on-going through Lent, so you can add items as and when you can.

On Friday 28th March another non-uniform day for donations of chocolate so we can hold a ‘Chocolate Tombola’ on Thursday 3rd April  at 3pm and proceeds to this will go to the ‘Forget me not Trust’.

Please support these charities in any way you can.
