Shoebox Appeal1 minute read

The children in Class Two have been organising this year’s Operation Christmas Child shoe box appeal. To raise funds to send the shoe boxes they have even made and sold soup from our own school grown vegetables and some donated produce. The ‘soup for shoeboxes’ sold out very quickly and raised enough funds to send the forty (overfilled) shoeboxes to some of the least fortunate children in the poorest parts of the world. As a school we believe in encouraging charitable work at an early age and the children have enjoyed collecting and sorting the donations and also thinking about how the children will enjoy receiving their gifts at Christmas. We would like to thank all the families who have donated items for the shoe boxes particularly as we understand that the cost of living has risen sharply in recent times. Thank you from Class Two!
