Class Two have harvested the broad beans that they have grown over winter since last September. It was a bumper harvest from the two raised beds. The children enjoyed harvesting the beans, weeding ans preparing the beds for the next crop. We podded the beans and tried them in class. Some of the children liked the beans raw and some preferred them cooked!
We composted the plants so we can put nutrients back into the soil.
We have chosen to plant some beetroot in the beds, so these should be popping up soon and these will be ready in the autumn term.
